2012 ANZPT Schedule Announced

Finally, it’s the news that all Australian poker players have been waiting for...the dates for the 2012 PokerStars.net ANZPT schedule have been released!

It has been announced on the ANZPT website that there will be four events on the 2012 ANZPT schedule with events heading to Sydney, Gold Coast, Queenstown and Melbourne this year.

The season will kick off with the ANZPT Sydney at The Star from March 22-25 2012 which will feature an AU$2,200 Main Event buy-in.  From there, the tour is expected to move to Jupiters on the Gold Coast in June, with official dates expected to be announced later this week.

The popular ANZPT Snowfest once again returns in Queenstown with the NZ$3,000 Main Event running from July 24-29 2012 to give players plenty of opportunity to enjoy the delights of this city.

The final event of the season is the ANZPT Grand Final at the Crown Casino in Melbourne from August 31 – September 3 2012.  This event will also be the APPT Melbourne event which will feature a full schedule of events culminating in the AU$5,000 Main Event.

As expected, this announcement sees a reduction in ANZPT events from last year, as the tour is focussing on spending more time satelliting people into tournaments to create larger prizepools than previously.

The smaller events around the country are still being supported with online satellites already running to the Adelaide Poker Zone Cup which will count for ANZ Player of the Year points.  In addition, we can announce that the next ANZ Player of the Year qualifying event will be the Perth Poker Championships from May 2-6 2012.

ANZPT satellites to the first event of the tour in Sydney will be up and running in the PokerStars lobby from Wednesday evening.
