June 4th 2014 By Joshua Bell

The latest tournament to be scheduled on the 2014 Australian poker calendar is Crown Poker’s Winter Warm-Up. There are 13 dedicated events, including a $550 repechage Main Event.

The Crown Poker Room in Melbourne, Australia has been busy hosting a plenty of tournament series in 2014, including the high buy-in Aussie Millions and the mid buy-in Crown Poker Championship.

Now, a new tournament series has been announced – Crown Poker’s ‘Winter Warm-Up’. This great new event will run from June 19th – June 29th and the full schedule features 13 dedicated tournaments, ranging in buy-in from $125.

The Winter Warm-Up schedule culminates in the $550 Winter Warm-Up Main Event which begins on Friday, June 27th.  The tournament features two Day 1 flights and runs as a repechage, meaning those eliminated on the first Day 1 flight will have the option of trying their luck on the second Day 1 flight.

While it is only a $550 buy-in, the Winter Warm-Up Main Event runs with a structure closer to a much larger buy-in tournament. Player start with 20,000 in chips, the first four levels last 30 minutes and all levels thereafter last 40 minutes.

There is likely to be a fairly large field in the Main Event, so be sure to put it in your calendar and try your hand at turning a small investment into big money. There are even a few satellites into the Main Event running over the next few weeks, so be sure to check those out.

Some of the other tournaments on the Winter Warm-Up schedule include the $125 NLHE opening event, a fun $150 Hyper Turbo which sees players with ten seconds to act and levels lasting ten minutes each, a $350 Pot Limit Omaha Terminator, a $350 H.O.R.S.E, a $175 Mixed-Max, an always-popular $250 Teams Event and a $550 NLHE Six-Max.
