So the WSOP-APAC schedule has been announced...

http://www.pokerasiapacific.com/2014-ws ... 41446.html

...and it includes a Dealer's Choice 8-Game Event. Unlike the WSOP Dealer's Choice where up to 16 games are able to be chosen, the WSOP-APAC schedule offers the choice of 8.

I can understand the need to experiment at the WSOP, and people will enjoy the chance to play games like Badugi or Draw where there are a huge range of games to pick from, but I just don't understand it for an 8-game event at WSOP-APAC for a number of reasons.

I think you will find that no one will pick NLHE (these are mixed game players) and similarly few will pick LHE. Hardly anyone enjoys Razz, so that leaves five games. I think most people enjoy the Omaha variants the most so I feel the event will be greatly biased towards the four-card variations.

Mixed games are supposed to be a true test of player's all around capabilities, so for an eight-game version, why can't we just rotate through all the games equally. Why bother having dealer's choice at all?

And I'm not recommending we have 16 games to choose from at WSOP-APAC as many dealer's would have no clue how to deal most of the games. 8 games is often hard enough.

What do others think?

FYI, here's the 16 games available at the WSOP Dealer's Choice Event:

no-limit hold'em
fixed-limit hold'em
razz
seven-card stud
seven-card stud hi/lo
pot-limit hold'em
pot-limit Omaha
pot-limit Omaha hi/lo
fixed-limit Omaha hi/lo
fixed-limit 2-7 triple draw
fixed-limit A-5 triple draw
Badugi
Baducy
Badacy
no-limit 2-7 single draw
five-card draw
