hi my concerns are from playing online poker for years!!! when i started playing it was about fun, if i won i play to win!! as i played more and more i noticed esp on jokerstars the second best hands winning big!!! and of course that was followed by fkn jstars, rigged, always the same bullshit, at first i was ignorant and just thought more hands per hour more likely to see those hands. now i wonder if its pre set into their system?
it makes sense to do it,the more rake in the hand the more they make, so by rewarding the second best hand or a low drawing hand it creates gambling, ok poker is a game of skill and luck, yes some play the maniac lager, prepared to lose it all others dont. we all have our own style, but when a third party is involved from the whole cards through to the river is has to raise some concerns!!!

i love online poker and dont want it to be lost to australians!! i think the only hope we as a poker country has is to weed out the bad sites. i think gambling isnt poker, im concerned with the fact that sites turn poker players into gamblers!!!

pokerstars seems to have only one aussie pro? why maybe there sick of being sucked out on by the second best hand. ive lost to hands that just dont happen. not as often as they do, ive had 3 royals on jstars all against AA , all with q 10 or j 10 and QQ! i havnt played 3 million hands. and with all the other great low % hands that win i can see how players lose their way, no longer playing poker but gambling. you wouldnt back a donkey to win the melbourne cup even it paid a million to one, why because a donkey cant beat a race horse, let alone 23 of them. im no high roller but i play a solid game.

i also noticed party poker wont let you play in freerolls for money until you have deposited money into your account. ok i guess they want your money fair enough or is it. if you are any good you can build a bankroll from scratch!! so once you have an amount large enough to hit the tables they will get their rake anyways. so i can only assume that their promoting players to gamble!!! if you are just starting out and dont want to play with your money you cant.(play money isnt poker) so i question why they have this policy? to make money? yes. but what about getting you hooked on gambling!! not poker!! if poker was their main goal anyone who has an account and is over 18 whould be able to play in the freerolls to build up an bankroll.
yes every site and casino takes a rake. love it or hate it, thats the way it is. i have no problem in paying a rake to play! i have concerns that the cards arnt random. i find it hard to beleive that they are. yes i can hear the point they have no intreast in who wins or loses! i beg to differ, a player who spends more is more valuable to them, so a part time player is less of a money maker, im sure there are legit sites and im not claiming that either site is illeagel!!! im more concerned with weather or not the cards a truly random!! also the possibility they want to turn us into gamblers not poker players!!

one last point are these sites safe??? im not sure they are! im having problems on jstars!! worried about being hacked!!! via chat box to see whole cards!!! my chat keeps freezing!!! no one at jstars cared or even showed concern!!! all they wanted was a copy of chat!!! not concerned with the fact a mate who knows software had his laptop watching me from the rail. my chat froze his didnt!!! am i hacked? well he couldnt find anything on my laptop to back up their claim it was at my end!! i doubt i will find out!!!pokerstars if it is a problem could owe millions!!(unfortunitly not to me) so i will never know. just be wary of the fact it might be just a simple programme problem due to some over confident programmer making a simple mistake. or worse a hacker who can see your whole cards via the chat box!!! im no expert but i was informed its possible. all i can say is pokerstars support didnt seem to care!! one of them told me i must of given out my password??? wtf??? i wouldnt ever give that out!!!

we need legit poker rooms online and need to question weather or not these sites are.. dodgy sites will end online poker in this country!! we need to stop them before the ruin the game for all aussies...

i dont gamble but i bet!!!! gl all on the tables, chase that dream!!!

Honestly you are probably a losing online poker player if you don't know what an RNG is and how it makes the games fair. Having played tens of thousands of tournaments and profited six figures online, I can say that the games are definitely fair, however variance is FAR bigger than you could ever imagine as a casual live player, due to the large field sizes. For example, i've a 3000-game losing stretch and a 500 average buyin downswing before and these are considered to be standard variance, and I'm in the top 0.1% of online poker players results wise over a 10k+ game multi table tournament sample.

The state of the game right now online is very tough for casual players, with fields with a buyin over $50 largely infested by regs, to the degree that there are some fields I do not enter despite the buyin being within my bankroll and my skillset being in the top 0.1% of players, because after rake I would not be a profitable player in that field (super tuesday would be an example of such a tournament, or some of the tougher 100r or 215 turbo fields)

Just because you are a winning player in live poker where most players are terrible does not mean you will have a positive expectation online where most of the players are stronger.
